UPM Serdang, 8 May 2026 - The University Human Research Ethics Committee of Universiti Putra Malaysia (JKEUPM) underwent a remote inspection conducted by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), Ministry of Health Malaysia from 5 to 7 May 2025 via an online platform.

The inspection was led by Dr. Khairulanwar Burhanuddin together with Mr. Nicholas Leow Chun Wei from NPRA.

The inspection was carried out to assess JKEUPM’s compliance with requirements and guidelines related to human research ethics, while also ensuring that the committee’s governance, documentation, ethics review processes, and operational implementation are aligned with current standards and best practices.

Throughout the inspection session, various aspects related to the management and implementation of the ethics committee’s functions were comprehensively reviewed by the NPRA inspectors.

The university extends its appreciation to all committee members, secretariat personnel, and related parties for their commitment and cooperation throughout the inspection process.
