April 6, 2026, UPM – The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) conducted a site visit to the UPM–Hiroshima University Living Lab for Conservation Grazing in Sustainable Oil Palm Plantations.

The visit was accompanied by Mr. Shahriman Hashim, Head of Administration for the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Badrul Azhar Md. Sharif from the Department of Forestry Science and Biodiversity, Faculty of Forestry and Environment.
This Living Lab is a manifestation of the strategic cooperation established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UPM and Hiroshima University. The initiative aims to realize the planetary health and food security agendas through an innovative approach that integrates conservation grazing practices within sustainable oil palm plantations.
This visit reflects UPM’s ongoing commitment to strengthening high-impact research and international collaboration toward environmental sustainability and global food security.
