SERDANG, February 10 - The Training Management Division, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) held a physical workshop on Leave Management System on the 10th February 2023, Friday at the Mini Auditorium 2, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) Building, UPM.

 

The workshop aims to educate the officers on how to better understand and use the leave system efficiently. It was attended by a total of 90 participants from all the three entities under DVC(R&I)’s office.

 

The session was delivered by Madam Rosna Jasin, Head of Leave and Retirement Section, from the Registrar's Office, UPM focusing on establishing a comprehensive leave policy that elaborates more on the different types of leave that employees are entitled to, as well as to how employees are expected to use each leave type.

 

Employees should be aware of their rights and responsibilities and to better plan their leaves systematically to ensure a smooth process of applying and granting the leave request. The workshop began at 9:30 am and ended at 12:00 noon.

 

According to Miss Zubaidah Redzun from the Section of Ethics Committee said, the workshop was very helpful as it provided an opportunity for staff to better plan holidays in a more systematic manner so it would not affect the quality of their work. It is essential for both employees and the employer to maximise the quality of work and still strike a balance between professional and personal duties.

 

The workshop ended at 12:00 noon with a Q&A session involving the speakers and participants. Overall the workshop received a very encouraging response from participants. We hope that such workshops will give a better insight on the leave management policy.

 

The workshop was attended by Mr Shahriman bin Hashim, Head of Administration of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Universiti Putra Malaysia.
