
UPM SERDANG, July 1, 2026 – The University Ethics Committee for Research Involving Humans (JKEUPM) successfully organised the JKEUPM Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Workshop and Appreciation Session 2026. The event, held at Mini Auditorium 1, Level 3, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Building, UPM Serdang, aimed to enhance the understanding of standard procedures in human-subject research.
The morning segment commenced with four intensive sessions delivered by a panel of expert speakers. The distinguished speakers were Prof. Dr. Johnson Stanslas, Dr. Fatimah Ahmad Fauzi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chan Mei Yuit, and Prof. Dr. Ching Siew Mooi. They shared invaluable insights on compliance with research ethics SOPs, ensuring the university’s research standards remain high and principled.
The closing and appreciation ceremony was officiated by the Head of Administration for the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) at UPM, YBrs. Encik Shahriman Hashim, who attended on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation).
Following the conclusion of the workshop, the 2026 Appreciation Session was held to honour the contributions of academic staff and researchers. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Best Reviewer Award 2025, which was divided into two main categories:
