From the Deputy Vice Chancellor's (R&I) Desk

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah Hiwabarakatuh and warm greetings to all,

Welcome to the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) website.

The success of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as one of the leading Research Universities is thanks to all the efforts of UPM staffs who are committed in driving UPM especially in the field of Research and Innovation towards excellence. However, the role of UPM will not stop there, efforts to further enhance Research and Innovation excellence still need to be intensified to achieve UPM's vision and mission. Transformation in research is emphasized, to increase research qualitity and to make UPM's research more dynamic and able to achieve international standards.

The main purpose of this office is to support UPM's goal of creating value through a strong and sustainable RDCE. There are four main entities under the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) portfolio. First is the Research Management Center (RMC) which is responsible for mobilizing research management and enhancing the overall impact of research to expand cooperation and strengthen partnerships with other world-class research universities. Secondly, the Putra Science Park (PSP) is in charge of driving innovation towards wealth creation and nation building. Thirdly, the UPM Publisher is responsible for increasing publication of various genres without neglecting its main focus on high-quality academic research-based publication in Bahasa Melayu and the English language. For general matters of administration, management and human resource requirements, financial physical plans and the entirety of the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) are managed by the Administration Division which is the fourth entity.

I hope that all the information provided will enable visitors and staffs to understand the role, contributions and aspirations of this office in achieving Research & Innovation excellence.
