The success of UPM as a prominent Research University is defined by the various successive research transformations that have shaped its academic and research excellence. Propelled by the success of the university's research and innovation ventures that span all areas of human endeavours, UPM always strives to evolve in response to the inevitable emergence of new areas in science, agriculture, medicine, engineering, education and the humanities.
This office is responsible to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) in managing research and innovation affairs of UPM as well as all research outputs from commercialisation activities. The mission of the office would be to ensure that Universiti Putra Malaysia remains as a Research University by giving full support towards research, innovation and commercialisation activities involving research findings. Management pertaining to research and commercialisation is leaded by the Research Management Centre (RMC) and Putra Science Park (PSP). For general administrative matters, management and human resource requirements and financial and overall physical plans of the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) will be managed by the Administration Division.
